Frequently asked questions

The useful details, without the detour.

Start with a topic or open any question below. The answers follow the same booking and ticket flows you use on ShowMeBus.

01

Booking your journey

How to search, choose a departure and book with or without an account.

How do I book a bus ticket?

Search for your origin, destination, travel date and passengers. Choose an available departure, enter the traveller and contact details, review the final total, and complete one of the payment methods shown at checkout.

Do I need an account to book?

No. You can book as a guest. Use your booking reference and the same email address on the Manage booking page, and we will send a secure link to your journey. An account simply keeps eligible journeys together in one dashboard.

Can I book a one-way or round-trip bus ticket?

Yes. Choose one-way or round trip when you search. For a round trip, select an available outbound and return departure. Checkout shows the server-calculated total for the complete journey, and any special return fare appears only when it is available for the selected route, operator and passengers.

Can I book international bus tickets online?

Yes, when an active operator has a bookable schedule, fare and capacity for the route. Search the exact origin, destination and travel date, then review the operator, boarding point, times and passenger fare before payment. Travellers remain responsible for the documents required at each border.

Can I book adults and children in the same booking?

Yes. Select the number of adults and children before searching. Search and checkout calculate the fares currently available for that departure, and you enter each passenger’s details before payment. Age, identification and border requirements can depend on the operator and route.

02

Tickets and changes

Where your ticket lives and what can be managed after booking.

Where can I find my ticket?

Tickets become available after the booking is confirmed. Open the booking to view each ticket, use the available Apple Wallet or Google Wallet action, or resend the ticket email when that option is shown.

Can I change or cancel a booking?

If your booking is eligible, its management page will show the available edit or cancellation actions. Issued tickets keep their original passenger snapshot, and cancellation requests are reviewed under the applicable terms rather than treated as an immediate guaranteed refund.

When will I receive my bus ticket?

Your ticket is issued after ShowMeBus confirms the booking and records a successful payment. You can then open it from the booking and receive the ticket email. A pending or interrupted payment does not produce a valid ticket until the booking is confirmed.

Can I show my bus ticket on my phone, or must I print it?

You can open the issued ticket on your phone and use an available Apple Wallet or Google Wallet action. Keep the device charged and the ticket ready for inspection. If your ticket or operator instructions specifically require a printed copy, follow that instruction for the selected journey.

What if I cannot find my confirmation or ticket email?

Check spam or junk mail and confirm that you are looking at the email address used during checkout. You can use your booking reference and that same email on Manage booking to request a secure link, then resend the ticket email when the option is available. Contact support if it is still missing.

03

Prices and payment

What appears at checkout, how the booking hold works and what to do if payment stops.

What should I do if payment does not complete?

Return to your booking and try an available payment method again while the booking hold is still active. If the hold has expired, search again so availability and the current fare can be checked before you continue.

Is the final price shown before I pay?

Yes. Checkout shows the total for the selected passengers and any chosen extras before payment. Submitting the booking creates a 10-minute price and capacity hold, and availability is checked again on the server.

Which payment methods can I use to buy a bus ticket?

Checkout shows the payment methods currently available for your booking. Availability can vary by currency, country and provider status. Card or wallet credentials are entered in the payment provider’s protected checkout; ShowMeBus does not store your full card number or CVV.

I was charged but my booking is not confirmed. What should I do?

Do not pay again until the first payment status has been checked. Open Manage booking to review the current status and allow time for the provider confirmation to reach ShowMeBus. If it remains unresolved, contact support with the booking reference, amount and payment time, but never send a card number, CVV or banking code.

How do bus ticket refunds work, and how long do they take?

Refund eligibility depends on the operator, route, fare conditions, timing and reason. Approved refunds are normally sent back through the original payment method. ShowMeBus records the refund instruction, but the payment provider and bank control when the funds appear, so timing can vary by method and country.

04

Travel day

The details worth checking before you leave for the station.

What should I check before departure?

Review the departure time, boarding point and operator shown in your booking or ticket. Arrive early enough to find the correct boarding area and keep your ticket ready to present.

What should I bring for the journey?

Bring your ticket and the travel documents required for your route, with passenger details that match the booking. Luggage and boarding requirements may vary by operator or route, so check the journey details or contact us if anything is unclear.

How much luggage can I take on the bus?

Each passenger may bring one small bag up to 7 kg and 30 × 18 × 42 cm plus one checked bag up to 20 kg and 50 × 30 × 80 cm. One additional checked bag may be available as a paid extra for each journey segment. Bicycles, oversized items and other special luggage require a separate offered extra or written confirmation.

Where exactly do I board the bus?

Use the boarding point and station shown in your booking or ticket. A city can have several terminals or roadside stops, so do not rely on a generic city-centre map result or an old timetable. Save the listed address or map pin and arrive early enough to find the correct boarding area.

What documents do I need for international bus travel?

Carry the passport or identity document required for every country on the route, plus any necessary visa, residence permit or transit document. Passenger details must match the booking. Entry rules depend on your nationality and itinerary, so verify them with the relevant official authorities before departure.
